Marking an important halfway milestone in our project, the BATMACHINE Team gathered in Brussels, in June 2025 for our 4th General Assembly. This meeting served as a crucial point to evaluate the project’s technical trajectory, sync with our Advisory Board experts, and map out the next steps for sustainable battery manufacturing.

With the project hitting its mark for the first half of the project, the 4th General Assembly focused on moving from individual machine developments and digital tools into a unified, collaborative ecosystem.

Reviewing Progress & Technical Milestones

The core of the 4th General Assembly was dedicated to a comprehensive review of all active Work Packages. Consequently, partners took turns in presenting their latest progress, sharing updates on the manufacturing equipment and Industry 4.0 data frameworks developed so far.

The updates highlighted the strong synergy developing across the Team. From the refining of slot-die coating and calendering parameters, to the integration of data-driven intelligence frameworks, the discussions allowed partners to cross-examine technical results, address common challenges, and ensure that all hardware and software components remain aligned.

Strategic Exchange with the Advisory Board

A highlight of the 4th General Assembly was our dedicated session with the BATMACHINE Advisory Board. Gathering our external sector experts allowed the consortium to present a high-level overview of our technical progress and strategic direction.

The Board provided insightful, objective feedback on BATMACHINE developments within the broader European battery landscape. While the details of these discussions remain confidential, their expert insight is instrumental in ensuring our innovations remain relevant, commercially viable, and impactful for future Gigafactories.

Brainstorming the Road Ahead: The Next 6 Months

To conclude the 4th General Assembly, the BATMACHINE Team turned its focus from current progress to next steps. To this end, the Team conducted a brainstorming discussion dedicated to mapping out the operational roadmap for the subsequent months.

Partners aligned on upcoming testing schedules, key deliverables, and critical dissemination activities required to maintain our momentum. This collective planning ensured that every partner left with clear objectives. As a result, the Team synchronised to tackle the intensive integration and validation phases ahead.

Moreover, the Advisory Board meeting provided useful insights from external experts on our work and progress.
